water imageWater is one of Scotland's most abundant natural resources. The Government is working, in conjunction with SEPA and Scottish Water, to improve the quality of the water environment and, in conjunction with the Drinking Water Quality Regulator for Scotland and Scottish Water, to improve drinking water quality.

The Government has policies on drinking water quality, reservoir safety, marine and freshwater quality, sewage treatment, conservation and use of water resources and provision of adequate water and sewerage services.
