The Scottish Government and its relationship with the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman (SPSO)
The SPSO is responsible for investigating complaints made by members of the public against authorities that fall within its jurisdiction.
The Scottish Government and its Agencies are in this group and complaints involving the Scottish Executive or any of it's Agencies can be investigated by the SPSO.
Under the SPSO Act 2002 the Scottish Government has a legal requirement to co-operate with SPSO investigations and to make investigation reports available for scrutiny.
